Prime Minister Modi and Muhammad Yunus Discuss Safety of Minorities in Bangladesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone call with Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, on Friday. They talked about the importance of protecting minorities in Bangladesh, especially Hindus.

This conversation happened after Sheikh Hasina resigned and left Bangladesh due to massive student protests. She arrived in India on August 5. Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Peace Laureate, was sworn in as the head of the interim government on August 8. There have been reports of violence against minorities in Bangladesh, and India has expressed its concerns, urging for the restoration of law and order.
