Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Chirag Paswan and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MPs, emphasizing their joint commitment to public service. Modi expressed his admiration for Chirag Paswan, who is fulfilling his late father Ram Vilas Paswan’s vision.

Chirag Paswan, son of the late MP and former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, was appointed Minister of Food Processing Industries after winning the 2024 general election from Bihar’s Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) contested the election in alliance with the BJP, and the BJP-led NDA performed well in Bihar, winning 29 out of 40 seats. The BJP and JDU each won 12 seats, while the LJP (Ram Vilas) won all five seats it contested. The RJD and Congress won four and three seats, respectively.

In the run-up to the Bihar assembly elections, former Union Minister and BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey expressed his desire for the NDA to form a government with a full majority in the state. Bihar is expected to vote for its 243-member legislative assembly in October 2025. Choubey emphasized the importance of every worker contributing to this goal.
