The 7th Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) between India and Germany is taking place in New Delhi on October 25-26. Celebrating 50 Years of Science and Technology Cooperation

India and Germany are celebrating 50 years of Science and Technology Cooperation, with projects in space research, AI, sustainability, and more. The 6th IGC in Berlin in 2022 saw agreements on green development, including a 10 billion Euro commitment from Germany to support India’s climate goals.

Strengthening Economic and Development Partnerships

Germany is India’s largest trading partner in the EU, with trade reaching USD 33.33 billion in 2023. Over 2000 German companies operate in India, and both countries are working on projects like the Nagpur metro and Green Energy Corridor.

Migration and Mobility

Migration and mobility are key elements of India-Germany relations, with a significant number of Indian nationals in Germany. The Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement was signed in December 2022.

India is hosting the 18th Asia-Pacific Conference (APK) in New Delhi from October 24-26, with participation from 650 business leaders and CEOs from Germany, India, and other countries.
