Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Receives Blessings from Chabad Rabbis for Sukkot

In Tel Aviv, just before the Sukkot holiday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed a group of notable Chabad rabbis. The Chabad, also known as Lubavitch, is a significant Hasidic sect worldwide. The rabbis gifted Netanyahu the “Four Species,” which are plants used for blessings during Sukkot, starting Wednesday night. They also presented him with a multi-volume set of the Tanya, a book of Jewish wisdom written over 200 years ago by the first Chabad leader. This edition was printed in Lebanon during Israel’s first Lebanon War in 1982.

Netanyahu expressed gratitude to the rabbis for their support as conflicts with Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon continue. He emphasized the importance of strength, resourcefulness, and divine assistance, acknowledging the challenges of the ongoing war. Netanyahu wished the rabbis and all of Israel a joyful Sukkot, stating, “We must be strong, and resourceful and hope for assistance from Heaven. This is a long war – it does not proceed as we might prefer. There are good days and less good days but the main thing is to strive for victory.”
