In a letter to congressional Democrats, Biden emphasized the importance of unity within the party to defeat former President Donald Trump. He assured his supporters that he believes he can win and urged the party to stay focused and united.

Biden stated, “I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to beating Donald Trump.” He also highlighted the timeline, noting, “We have 42 days to the Democratic convention and 119 days to the general election.”

The letter followed a group call with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, where some congressmen and donors expressed their concerns and urged Biden to step aside. However, Biden’s supporters are determined to continue the fight for his presidency, believing he is the best candidate to defeat Trump in what is seen as a crucial election.
