He highlighted the achievements of his administration, including rebuilding the nation, lowering prescription drug costs, expanding affordable healthcare, and passing significant climate legislation.
Biden also noted the US’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic crisis. He recalled his decision to choose Harris as his Vice President in 2020 as the best decision he made and urged Democrats to unite and support Harris to beat Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
If Harris’s nomination is accepted, she will be the first Indian-origin woman to contest the US presidential elections. Biden’s decision follows weeks of pressure from Democrats after his performance in a debate with Trump.
