President Droupadi Murmu’s Visit to Chhattisgarh
President Droupadi Murmu, along with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Governor Ramen Deka, visited the Jagannath temple in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, to offer prayers. This visit is part of her two-day trip to the state.
Convocations and Initiatives
During her visit, President Murmu will attend the 4th convocation of IIT Bhilai and the 3rd convocation of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya Memorial Health Science and Ayush University. Additionally, she will release funds to 70 lakh women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
Inauguration of Maa Mahamaya Airport
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Maa Mahamaya airport in Darima village, Surguja district. The airport, spanning 365 acres and costing Rs 80 crores, is expected to boost connectivity and employment in the region. It can accommodate 72-seater aircraft and handle up to 500,000 passengers annually.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the airport’s role in enhancing connectivity and providing job opportunities. The project was part of the Government of India’s Regional Connectivity Scheme.
