New Delhi, India – President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint sitting of both Houses, discussing various important issues.

NEET-UG Examination Irregularities

President Murmu emphasized the government’s commitment to a fair investigation into the recent NEET-UG paper leaks and promised stringent punishment for those found guilty. She called for a nationwide solution to prevent such incidents in the future.

Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)

The President highlighted the government’s efforts to grant citizenship to refugees under the CAA law, aiming to build a better future for these families while preserving India’s heritage and culture.

Agriculture Reforms

President Murmu discussed the government’s initiatives to support farmers, including the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and increased MSP for Kharif crops. She also mentioned the growing demand for organic products and the integration of natural farming supply chains.

Armed Forces Modernization

The President stressed the importance of continuous reforms in the armed forces to keep them combat-ready and highlighted the significant increase in India’s defence manufacturing and exports.

Social Welfare and Development

President Murmu outlined the government’s efforts to empower the poor, youth, women, and farmers through various schemes. She also mentioned the success of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in improving the dignity and health of the poor.

Healthcare for the Elderly

The President announced that all elderly citizens above 70 years of age would receive free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Economic Reforms

President Murmu highlighted the benefits of economic reforms like GST, which have formalized India’s economy and increased state profits.
