President Droupadi Murmu Visits Silvassa
On November 13, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Swami Vivekananda Vidya Mandir school at Zanda Chowk in Silvassa. During her visit, she engaged with students by playing games and reciting poems. In her address, she emphasized the region’s rich historical, cultural, and natural heritage and the role of youth in building a developed India.
Promoting Tourism and Employment
President Murmu highlighted the potential of tourism to create new job opportunities in the Union Territory (UT). She stated, “Expansion of tourism creates new employment opportunities. More and more people get to know about the beauty and heritage of our country. Also, when we meet people from other regions, we also become more generous and sensitive.”

She also visited the NAMO Medical Education & Research Institute in Silvassa, interacting with students and faculty from various educational institutions.

During her visit from November 12 to 14, President Murmu met Anitaben Krishan Halpati, a tribal resident, who shared her experiences and benefits from the PM SVANidhi scheme. The President was welcomed by the Administrator of the UT and received a guard of honor on her arrival in Daman.
