She highlighted that Indians are welcomed globally due to their hard work and trustworthiness. President Murmu stated, “We believe the whole world is a family. We believe in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’… The people of India are very affectionate and they gel in easily everywhere.”

She also spoke about the significant role of the Indian diaspora in various sectors such as business, education, and politics, attributing their success to the teachings of their ancestors.

Women’s Progress and Empowerment

President Murmu stressed the importance of women’s progress for societal and global advancement. She mentioned the role of self-help groups in India that aim to make women financially independent. “In India, we have created self-help groups to make women financially independent… Women are considered as ‘Matru Shakti’ in India. They have a lot of power and we have to take that power out and show it to the world,” she said.

Unity in Diversity

When asked about India’s unity despite its diversity, President Murmu explained that the country believes in ‘Unity in Diversity’ and respects its strong Constitution and elected representatives. “India is a big nation where 1.4 billion people live.
