President Droupadi Murmu Highlights Role of Tribal Communities at IIT Bhilai Convocation
President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the crucial role of tribal communities in India’s development during a convocation ceremony at IIT Bhilai. She stated that the country’s complete development is achievable only with the active participation of tribal communities, who possess valuable knowledge from their natural lifestyle. President Murmu expressed confidence in IIT Bhilai’s potential to bring global recognition to India through its innovative approach and advanced technologies.
She acknowledged the significant contributions of IIT students over the past sixty years in science and technology, noting their leadership in global companies. President Murmu praised the new IIT Bhilai campus for its state-of-the-art facilities and sustainable design.
During her two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, President Murmu, accompanied by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Governor Ramen Deka, visited the Jagannath temple in Raipur. She will also attend the 3rd convocation of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya Memorial Health Science and Ayush University and release funds to women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
