President Droupadi Murmu Concludes Conference of Governors
The two-day ‘Conference of Governors’ ended on Saturday at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu highlighted important issues like tribal welfare, women empowerment, natural farming, and drug addiction in her closing remarks. She praised the Governors for their valuable suggestions and expressed confidence that these would be implemented.
On the second day, six groups of Governors presented their ideas to President Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Vice President Dhankhar noted the conference’s significant impact and encouraged Governors to maintain communication with state governments.
Prime Minister Modi urged the Governors to create an ideal governance model in Raj Bhavans, train their staff, and embrace technology. He also called for a campaign to make educational campuses drug-free and suggested adopting natural farming practices.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Governors’ efforts and assured that actionable points would be addressed to improve the functioning of Raj Bhavans. President Murmu emphasized the importance of smooth institutional functioning for public welfare and development, promoting cooperative federalism and coordination between central and state institutions.
