President Murmu highlighted the 60-year diplomatic relationship between India and Malawi, emphasizing the historical and cultural connections. She stated that India’s partnership with Africa is based on mutual trust, equality, and benefit, focusing on local resources and capacity building.

Murmu assured that the welfare of Indians abroad is a top priority for the Indian government, committed to ensuring their safety and progress.

During the India-Malawi Business Meet, President Murmu noted that India is Malawi’s fourth-largest trading partner, with significant investments in various sectors. She emphasized the potential for collaboration in agriculture, mining, energy, and tourism.

Her visit included a ceremonial welcome and cultural performances, marking the first-ever state visit from India to Malawi.
