President Joe Biden had a 30-minute phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss Israel’s response to an Iranian ballistic missile attack. This was their first conversation in nearly two months. The discussion was described as an extension of ongoing talks between US and Israeli officials. President Biden condemned the Iranian attack and emphasized that Israel’s response should be proportional and not target Iranian nuclear sites.

The Israeli military has conducted over 1,100 airstrikes in Lebanon, and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi stated that Israel will continue its attacks to prevent Hezbollah from recovering. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has launched at least 90 missiles into northern Israel, which were intercepted or landed in fields.
