President Biden and Leaders Honor 9/11 Anniversary in New York and Pennsylvania
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump, and Senator JD Vance attended a 9/11 commemoration event at Ground Zero in Manhattan, New York. Biden wore a red hat that read ‘TRUMP 2024’ as a gesture of bipartisan unity.
At the event, Trump and Harris shook hands, showing a positive gesture despite their recent debate. However, Vance and Harris did not interact.
Biden and Harris then traveled to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Flight 93 memorial. Biden placed his hand on the wreath as the group bowed their heads. They also visited a local volunteer fire station, where Biden briefly wore a Trump hat.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 attacks, the deadliest terror attack in US history. Two planes crashed into the Twin Towers, one into the Pentagon, and the fourth in a Pennsylvania field after passengers intervened.
Earlier, Biden reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to protect American lives and prevent future terrorist attacks. He emphasized the importance of vigilance and the commitment to disrupting terrorist networks. Harris also expressed solidarity with the victims’ families, remembering those lost in the attacks.
