Preeti Pal Wins Bronze at Paris Paralympics in 100m T35 Event
Indian para sprinter Preeti Pal won a bronze medal in the 100m T35 event at the Paris Paralympics, clocking her personal best of 14.21 seconds. She expressed pride and gratitude for the support she received.
Preeti said, “I am still not able to believe that I have won the bronze medal…I am feeling very proud and I thank everyone for supporting and motivating me.”
China’s Xia Zhou and Qianqian Guo took gold and silver, respectively, with times of 13.58 seconds and 13.74 seconds.
Other Indian athletes also excelled. Avani Lekhara won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle final, while Mona Agarwal secured bronze in the same event. Manish Narwal won silver in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 event.
India has sent its largest Paralympics contingent ever, comprising 84 athletes across 12 sports. The nation aims to surpass its previous achievements from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where India won 19 medals, including five golds.
