Manoj Bharti Named Working President
On Wednesday, Prashant Kishore, an election strategist-turned-politician, officially launched the Jan Suraaj Party in Patna. During the event, he named Manoj Bharti as the working president of the party. Bharti, who hails from Madhubani, has an impressive background, having studied at Netarhat, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Delhi, and served as India’s ambassador in several countries.
Party’s Vision and Goals
Prashant Kishore highlighted that the Jan Suraaj campaign has been active for the past two years and recently received approval from the Election Commission of India. He stressed the need for a significant investment of Rs 5 lakh crore over the next 10 years to build a world-class education system in Bihar. Kishore also vowed to end the liquor ban in Bihar if elected, stating that the funds saved would be used to improve education.
Future Plans
The Jan Suraaj Party plans to contest all 243 seats in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, with 40 women candidates. Kishore mentioned that the party’s agenda for Bihar would be released in January or February next year. The assembly elections are expected to be held in October-November 2025.
