Prasad Lad and Ambadas Danve Clash in Maharashtra Legislative Council Over Rahul Gandhi’s Statement

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra Legislative Council member Prasad Lad accused Ambadas Danve, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) from the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena, of using abusive language against him. Lad demanded that the Deputy Chairman take strict action against Danve.

Prasad Lad insisted on passing a resolution in the Maharashtra Legislative Council against Rahul Gandhi for his statement on Hindus in the Parliament. Ambadas Danve argued that it was not their subject and should be discussed in the Parliament. He urged the council to focus on their discussions.

The ruling Mahayuti coalition MLCs, along with Prasad Lad, objected and questioned Danve, asking, “Aren’t you a Hindu?” This led to a massive uproar and a heated argument between Danve and Lad. The Legislative Council was adjourned till Tuesday following the ruckus.

Rahul Gandhi had stated in the lower house that the BJP and RSS do not represent the entire Hindu society. He emphasized that non-violence and fearlessness are core values of Indian religions, criticizing those who promote violence and hatred.
