Pradeep Bhandari Criticizes Priyanka Gandhi’s Move to Wayanad

In New Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari criticized the Congress party, particularly Priyanka Gandhi, for choosing to contest elections in areas where they feel secure. He accused the Gandhi family of selecting regions with a significant Muslim population, like Wayanad, where Priyanka Gandhi recently filed her nomination for the Lok Sabha bypoll. Bhandari labeled Congress as the ‘modern Muslim League’ and accused them of trying to divide Hindu society.

He further claimed that Congress lost 90% of its election deposits in Uttar Pradesh, questioning Priyanka Gandhi’s statement, “I am a woman I can fight.” Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi expressed her gratitude to the people of Wayanad, promising to address their concerns and work for their progress.

Doubts Revealed

Pradeep Bhandari -: Pradeep Bhandari is a spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is one of the major political parties in India. A spokesperson is someone who speaks on behalf of a group or organization.

Priyanka Gandhi -: Priyanka Gandhi is a member of the Indian National Congress, another major political party in India. She is part of the Gandhi family, which has been very influential in Indian politics.

Wayanad -: Wayanad is a district in the state of Kerala, India. It is known for its beautiful landscapes and is a place where people from different communities live, including a significant Muslim population.

Lok Sabha bypoll -: A Lok Sabha bypoll is a special election held to fill a vacant seat in the Lok Sabha, which is the lower house of India’s Parliament. This happens when a seat becomes empty before the regular election time.

Election deposits -: In elections, candidates have to deposit a certain amount of money to show they are serious about contesting. If they don’t get enough votes, they lose this deposit. Losing 90% of election deposits means many candidates from a party did not get enough votes.
