Police Recover Contraband Items from Kalaburagi Central Prison
In Kalaburagi, Karnataka, a search operation at the Central Prison led to the recovery of a smartphone, a basic handset, and other contraband items. Police Commissioner Sharanappa SD announced that four individuals have been detained for further questioning.
The Commissioner explained that the investigation revealed criminal elements were throwing contraband into the prison compound. This discovery helped solve two cases from 2022 and 2024. In 2022, two individuals were arrested for throwing three mobile handsets into the prison. In 2024, two more were arrested for throwing a mobile phone, a China mobile handset, and eight packets of Ganja.
The inmate who was receiving these supplies has been identified and will be taken into custody. Further investigations are ongoing.
