The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Sub-Inspector Banala Ramu from Palvoncha Town Police Station in Bhadradri Kothagudem district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. He was caught red-handed while taking the bribe from advocate Kadapakonda Laxma Reddy.

The bribe was demanded in exchange for filing a charge sheet against accused persons in a criminal case lodged by the advocate’s client, Seeram Sravani. The ACB recovered the bribe amount hidden in the wash area of Ramu’s house. Chemical tests confirmed the presence of the bribe on his fingers and the contact portion between the house wall and the wastewater pipe.
