In Mianwali, Pakistan, a group of 12 to 14 terrorists attacked the Qabool Khel police check post with rockets and grenades, injuring two officers. The Punjab Police successfully thwarted the attack, causing the terrorists to flee. Senior police officials secured the area.

Last month, 12 policemen were killed and six injured in a similar attack in Rahim Yar Khan. Militant attacks have increased in Pakistan since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021, leading to a new counter-terrorism campaign, Operation Azm-e-Istehkam.
