In Bhilai city, Chhattisgarh, a notorious criminal named Amit Josh was killed during a police encounter. On the day of the encounter, Josh was spotted near Jayanti Stadium riding a motorcycle with an associate. When the police attempted to stop him, he fired two rounds at their vehicle and fled. The police, led by Crime Branch Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hem Prakash Nayak, engaged in retaliatory fire, resulting in Josh being injured in the leg and chest.
SP Shukla stated that the police acted in self-defense and that Josh was not willing to surrender. The encounter ended with Josh’s death on the spot.
