Police Constable Sham Lal Dismissed for Criminal Activities in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir

A police constable named Sham Lal has been dismissed from service in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, for his involvement in multiple criminal cases, including a murder.

Sham Lal joined District Kishtwar on November 9, 2023, while he was under suspension for prolonged absence and criminal activities. During his absence, he was involved in the murder of Rajesh Dogra, also known as Mohan Teer, which was registered on March 4 at Police Station Phase-II, Mohali, Punjab. He was arrested by Punjab Police on March 7 and lodged in the New District Jail Nabha, Punjab.

A departmental inquiry found that Sham Lal had a history of absenteeism and a criminal mindset, leading to his dismissal from service. Following his dismissal, SSP Kishtwar warned all police personnel that strict disciplinary action would be taken against anyone involved in anti-national activities, drug trafficking, or any heinous crimes.
