Director General of Police (DGP) Amitabh Ranjan emphasized the importance of this day, stating that since India’s independence, nearly 35,000 police officers have sacrificed their lives to maintain the nation’s integrity and peace. He expressed both pride and sorrow as they remember these brave individuals.

DGP Ranjan highlighted the dedication of police officers who face challenges from Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from the Northeast to the Western Coast. He reassured the public of the police force’s commitment to maintaining order and peace, stating, “We are prepared to sacrifice our lives to tackle any issues that arise.”

Chief Secretary JK Sinha also paid tribute, expressing heartfelt respect for the police personnel and security forces who have sacrificed their lives. He prayed for strength for their families and the police community.
