Police Arrest Two More Members of Hashim Baba Gang in Connection with Gym Owner’s Murder
Khatauli (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 19: The Delhi Special Police Cell and the Meerut Special Task Force (STF) arrested two more members of the Hashim Baba gang on Thursday morning. The arrests are related to the murder of Nadir Shah, a 35-year-old gym owner, who was shot dead in South Delhi on September 12.
The suspects, Anas Khan (18) and Asad Ameen (21), were injured during an encounter with the police. They were shot in the leg and taken to a nearby government hospital. A case has been registered in Khatauli, UP, and the recovered car of the accused was found to be stolen. Three pistols with nine live cartridges were also recovered.
Anas Khan has been wanted in four criminal cases in Delhi, including two for murder and two for attempted murder. The police received information that Anas and Asad were roaming around Ghaziabad and Delhi. A team was formed to search for them, and their car was intercepted on the Delhi-Haridwar Highway near Bhainsi villa in Khatauli at 4 a.m. on Thursday. The suspects opened fire on the police, leading to a retaliatory exchange of eight rounds of gunfire.
On September 14, Delhi Police arrested a fifth suspect, Sajid, in connection with Nadir Shah’s murder. Earlier, four other suspects, Nitlesh Tiwari, Vishal Verma, Akash Yadav, and Naveen Balayan, were arrested. All suspects were presented in court and remanded in police custody for 10 days.
