Three men were arrested in Gwalior after robbing a jewelry businessman and engaging in a shootout with police. The incident occurred near Kheriya Mirdha village under the jurisdiction of Behta police outpost, Maharajpura police station limits, at around 5 am on Tuesday.

Details of the Incident

The main suspect, Arun Chouhan, was injured in the leg during the encounter and is currently being treated at Jaya Arogya Hospital. The other two suspects, Pramod Tomar and Chhotu Jatav, were also apprehended. All three have previous criminal records, including robbery, murder, and attempted murder.

Robbery Details

On Monday night, the suspects allegedly looted a jewelry businessman, Chahat Soni, and fled with a bag containing gold and cash after shooting at him. The incident was captured on CCTV near the shop in Kushwah Market.

Police Action

Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Sagar stated that the police, acting on a tip-off, located the suspects near Kheriya Mirdha village. During the encounter, Arun Chouhan fired at the police, who retaliated, injuring him. The police recovered the stolen items and confiscated the bike, pistol, and bullets used in the crime.

Chahat Soni, who was injured during the robbery, is also receiving treatment and is out of danger. Further investigation is ongoing.
