In a joint search operation, Assam Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recovered two grenades in Dibrugarh on Thursday.

Details of the Operation

The operation was led by Additional SP (HQ) and the 171st Battalion of the CRPF. It took place near Jyotioni Gaon, Khatkhati under the jurisdiction of Moran Police Station at around 2:00 AM.

Statement from Assam DGP

Assam Director General of Police GP Singh said, “Plan of violence stymied in Upper Assam. Two grenades recovered in Dibrugarh.”

Recovery of Grenades

The grenades were found hidden beneath a large Pipal tree. They were seized in the presence of available witnesses, and other necessary legal formalities are being taken accordingly.
