PM Narendra Modi Visits 7 Nations Including Russia and Ukraine in First 100 Days of Third Term
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after assuming office for the third consecutive term, embarked on visits to seven nations, including Russia and Ukraine, as reported by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Key Visits and Meetings
In June, PM Modi attended the G7 Leaders’ Outreach meeting in Italy at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. In July, he traveled to Russia to attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit, invited by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In August, PM Modi made a historic visit to Ukraine, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country. He traveled from Poland aboard the train Rail Force One and was invited by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During his first 100 days, PM Modi also visited Poland, Singapore, and Brunei. His visit to Poland was the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 45 years.
Global Engagements
PM Modi hosted the 3rd Voice of Global South Summit (VOGSS), attended by 173 dignitaries, including 21 Heads of State/Government, 34 Foreign Ministers, and 118 Ministers/Vice Ministers from 122 countries.
President Droupadi Murmu visited Fiji, New Zealand, and Timor-Leste, announcing the opening of an Indian embassy in Timor-Leste.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited multiple countries, including UAE, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Maldives, Kuwait, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and Germany. He attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Kazakhstan and the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Japan.

India hosted the 46th World Heritage Committee (WHC) Session, where the Charaideo Moidam in Assam was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) hosted the first International Yoga Conference in South Africa and renewed the MoU on the ICCR Chair on Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy in Mauritius.
India upgraded the Deka Pumping Station and River Water Intake System in Zimbabwe and supplied Haemo-Dialysis units to eight Pacific Island Countries. A 20MW hydroelectric project was completed in Burundi’s Kabu, and India supplied APIs to Cuba.
New Indian missions were announced in Albania, Gabon, Georgia, Latvia, and Timor-Leste, along with two Indian Consulates in Auckland and Barcelona.
