Warsaw, Poland – Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand ceremonial welcome in Warsaw, Poland, where he met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. This visit marks the first time in 45 years that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Poland.

During the meeting, PM Modi and PM Tusk discussed various topics to enhance the partnership between India and Poland. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that this visit would bring fresh momentum to the relationship between the two countries.

PM Modi was warmly greeted by members of the Indian community in Poland, who chanted slogans and expressed their admiration. He reciprocated their affection by waving and shaking hands with some of them.

On the second day of his visit, PM Modi has several engagements, including talks with President Andrzej Duda and a lunch hosted by PM Tusk. He will also lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and meet with business leaders and Polish influencers.

PM Modi announced a new social security agreement between India and Poland, which will benefit many people. He also mentioned that Poland will host the Kabaddi championship for the first time this year, highlighting the cultural connection between the two nations.

Addressing the Indian community, PM Modi praised their efforts in helping Indian students during the Ukraine crisis in 2022 and thanked the Polish government for their support.

This visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. After his engagements in Poland, PM Modi will travel to Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine.
