PM Modi’s Visit to Singapore: Encouraging Business Leaders and Strengthening Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with business leaders and CEOs in Singapore, highlighting the ongoing reforms in India that will boost investment and innovation. He interacted with leaders from various sectors including investment funds, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, sustainability, and logistics.

Gautam Banerjee, Senior Managing Director and Chairman of Blackstone Singapore, expressed his admiration for Modi’s vision and the opportunities India presents. Banerjee said, “I am very impressed and encouraged by what Mr. Modi said to all of us. We will go back very encouraged with opportunities India presents to us.”

Modi also met with Goh Chok Tong, Emeritus Senior Minister and former Prime Minister of Singapore, to discuss ways to strengthen the India-Singapore friendship. Modi appreciated Goh’s contributions to fostering India-Singapore relations.

During his visit, Modi announced the establishment of an Invest India Office in Singapore to assist Singaporean investors. Four Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed in areas such as the semiconductor ecosystem, digital technologies, skill development, and healthcare. These MOUs address key pillars of future cooperation identified by the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable.

India and Singapore have elevated their bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, marking a significant step forward in their cooperation.
