PM Modi’s Vision for a Healthy and Developed India by 2047
On the 78th Independence Day of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort. He emphasized the importance of adequate nutrition for children as India aims to become a developed country by 2047. PM Modi stated, ‘Viksit Bharat should also be Swasth Bharat’, and announced the launch of the Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan to meet children’s nutritional needs.
PM Modi noted that around 25,000 students go abroad annually for medical education. To address this, the government has increased medical seats to nearly one lakh in the past decade and plans to add 75,000 new seats in the next five years. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported an 88% increase in medical colleges and a 118% increase in MBBS seats since 2014.
PM Modi urged citizens to work towards making India a developed nation by 2047, inspired by the courage shown by 40 crore Indians during the independence struggle. He emphasized the need for self-reliance and determination to achieve this goal.
This was PM Modi’s 11th address from the Red Fort, making him the third Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi to achieve this milestone. The theme for this year’s Independence Day is ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’.
