PM Modi’s Successful US Visit Strengthens India-US Ties, Says USISPF President Mukesh Aghi

New York [US], September 26: The relationship between India and the United States is growing stronger because the two countries are aligned in many ways, according to Mukesh Aghi, President & CEO of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). He described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the US as ‘very successful and transformational.’

During an interview, Aghi highlighted that PM Modi’s visit from September 21 to 23 showed that the ties between the two nations are ‘deeper, broader, and moving in the right direction.’ He emphasized that both countries are looking at India as a potential technological and industrial base, from moonshot and cancer research to setting up chip plants and manufacturing GE engines and atomic drones in India.

Aghi also noted that the Quad Summit, which includes Australia, India, Japan, and the United States, has become more structured. The four nations are collaborating on Artificial Intelligence (AI), secure supply chains, and sharing intelligence data. The recent Quad Leaders’ Summit was hosted by US President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, on September 21.

Aghi believes that the ties between the US and India will continue to grow regardless of who becomes the next US President. He also mentioned that the Indian diaspora is playing a crucial role in the US presidential elections, with a significant portion expected to vote for Democratic candidates, although support for Republican candidates is also increasing.

During his visit, PM Modi participated in the Quad Summit, held bilateral meetings with several leaders including President Biden, engaged with the Indian diaspora, met important American business leaders, and addressed the Summit of the Future at the United Nations.

The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) is an independent non-profit organization formed in 2017, headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in both countries.
