Warsaw, Poland, August 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Poland has been eventful and historic. On the first day, he addressed the Indian community in Warsaw, marking the first visit by an Indian PM to Poland in 45 years. He spoke about India’s progress and future goals, including becoming the third-largest economy and a developed nation by 2047.

On the second day, PM Modi is scheduled to meet Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda. He will hold delegation-level talks with Tusk, followed by a press statement and a lunch hosted by Tusk. PM Modi will also lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and meet with business leaders and Polish influencers.

During his address to the Indian diaspora, PM Modi highlighted the strong historical ties between India and Poland. He recalled how Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji Jadeja, provided shelter to Polish women and children during World War II. PM Modi also announced a new social security agreement between India and Poland, benefiting the Indian community in Poland.

PM Modi’s visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. After concluding his engagements in Poland, PM Modi will travel to Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine.
