Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday to launch several development projects worth around Rs 1,300 crore. The city is buzzing with excitement, especially for the inauguration of the Varanasi Sports Complex. Kaushal Raj Sharma, the Divisional Commissioner of Varanasi, mentioned that PM Modi will lay the foundation for 23 projects, including Phases 2 and 3 of the Varanasi Sports Complex redevelopment, under the ‘Khelo India’ scheme and the Smart City Mission.
The sports complex will feature a National Centre of Excellence, players’ hostels, a sports science centre, practice fields, indoor shooting ranges, and combat sports arenas. Additionally, PM Modi will unveil airport projects worth over Rs 6,100 crore, including the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital and new terminal buildings at various airports. These projects aim to enhance passenger capacity and are inspired by regional heritage structures.
