PM Modi Warns Against Maha Vikas Agadhi in Maharashtra

Concerns Over Water Crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cautioned the people of Maharashtra about the potential return of droughts and water shortages if the Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) alliance comes to power. Speaking at a public meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, he urged voters, especially women, to prevent the alliance from gaining control, warning that they would be left begging for water.

Criticism of MVA’s Past Performance

PM Modi criticized the MVA for not addressing the long-standing water crisis in Marathwada, claiming that his government was the first to take concrete steps against drought. He also accused the MVA of failing to honor Balasaheb Thackeray’s wish to rename Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, a change implemented by the current government.

Development Initiatives by Mahayuti

The Prime Minister highlighted the development efforts by the Mahayuti alliance, including the construction of modern infrastructure like the Samruddhi Mahamarg, a 701 km highway connecting Nagpur and Mumbai. He also mentioned the Palki Highway, built to facilitate the annual pilgrimage of Lord Vitthal’s devotees.

Upcoming Elections

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. Both the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition MVA are actively campaigning for the 288 assembly seats.
