PM Modi to Meet Beneficiaries of Free Solar Power Scheme in Gandhinagar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet beneficiaries of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the Vavol area of Gandhinagar on Monday. Jagshibhai Suthar, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his happiness about the visit.
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a central scheme aimed at providing free electricity to one crore households that install rooftop solar units.
Earlier, PM Modi received a warm welcome at Ahmedabad Airport. He is scheduled to participate in the Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet and lay the foundation for development projects worth over Rs 8,000 crore.
On social media, PM Modi posted, “After memorable programs in Jharkhand, I landed in Ahmedabad a short while ago. I will be attending various programs in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad on September 16.”
He added, “In the morning, I will interact with beneficiaries of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and thereafter take part in the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet and Expo at Mahatma Mandir. In the afternoon, I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of development works worth over Rs 8,000 crore. These projects cover energy, roads, housing, and more.”
The RE-INVEST 2024 program at Mahatma Mandir will highlight India’s progress in renewable energy. It will feature a two-and-a-half-day conference with delegates from around the world, including Germany, Australia, Denmark, and Norway as partner countries. The event will include discussions on innovative financing, green hydrogen, and future energy solutions.
Additionally, PM Modi will flag off India’s first Vande Metro from Bhuj to Ahmedabad and several Vande Bharat trains on various routes.
