On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the new terminal project at Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri, West Bengal. The ceremony will be led by BJP Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, with Union Minister Shantanu Thakur and other officials in attendance. Bagdogra Airport, managed by the Indian Air Force and Airports Authority of India, is expanding to accommodate growing passenger traffic. The new terminal, covering 105 acres, will cost Rs 1550 crore. In 2023-24, the airport saw a 43.6% increase in air traffic, serving over 30 lakh passengers, making it the 22nd busiest airport in India.
