PM Modi Meets Singapore Business Leaders: CapitaLand, ST Telemedia, and More Plan Big Investments in India

On September 6, CapitaLand Investment’s Group CEO, Lee Chee Koon, expressed confidence in India’s growth, citing the country’s stable government and steady reforms. He mentioned that CapitaLand aims to more than double its funds in India in the next few years. Lee highlighted that the company’s growth in India has tripled in the last seven years due to PM Modi’s reforms.

Bruno Lopez, CEO of ST Telemedia Global Data, praised India’s digitalisation efforts and announced plans to invest over Rs 26,000 crores in India over the next five years. He emphasized that India’s commitment to digitalisation has enabled the growth of the digital economy.

Kim Yin Wong, CEO of Sembcorp Industries Ltd., noted the positive impact of PM Modi’s policies on India’s power industry. He expressed interest in collaborating with Indian companies NTPC and NHPC, seeing tremendous opportunities in the renewable sector.

Sean Chiao, Group CEO of Surbana Jurong, praised PM Modi’s leadership and noted that India has become a major global player and the fifth-largest economy in the world. He encouraged further market openness and policy improvements to foster more collaboration with Singaporean companies.

Kok Ping Soon, CEO of Singapore Business Federation, appreciated PM Modi’s pro-business attitude and mentioned that Singapore can contribute to skill development in India.

Gautam Banerjee, Senior Managing Director and Chairman of Blackstone Singapore, praised PM Modi’s focus and reforms, stating that Blackstone has achieved more in the last 10 years than in the previous decade. He expressed optimism about the opportunities in India.

PM Modi highlighted the ongoing reforms in India that will encourage investment and innovation. He discussed ways to enhance economic relations between India and Singapore.
