PM Modi Meets Kuwait Crown Prince and Nepali PM in New York
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Kuwait Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, in New York. He also met with Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who described the meeting as ‘very good.’
Earlier this month, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya to discuss strengthening India-Kuwait relations. India and Kuwait have a long history of friendly relations, with India being a key trading partner. In 2023-24, Indian exports to Kuwait reached USD 2.10 billion.
PM Modi’s visit to New York is part of a three-day trip to the United States. He participated in the Quad Summit and held meetings with US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The Quad group aims to promote peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
PM Modi and President Biden discussed ways to deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. PM Modi also interacted with American business leaders and will address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly.
