PM Modi Meets Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled in Delhi
New Delhi, India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Hyderabad House in Delhi on Monday. The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the discussions would cover the entire spectrum of ties between India and the UAE. He shared on social media, “A warm welcome for a close friend. PM @narendramodi received HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi at Hyderabad House. Discussions on entire spectrum of India – UAE bilateral relations and future areas of cooperation lie ahead.”
Sheikh Khaled arrived in New Delhi on September 8 for his first official visit to India. Upon his arrival, he was received by Union Minister Piyush Goyal and given a ceremonial welcome. During his visit, Sheikh Khaled is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and visit Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He will also travel to Mumbai to participate in a Business Forum with business leaders from both countries.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the historically close and friendly ties between India and the UAE, noting that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has deepened in various areas, including political, trade, investment, connectivity, energy, technology, education, and culture. The Crown Prince’s visit aims to further strengthen these bilateral relations and explore new areas of partnership.
Earlier this year, in February, PM Modi visited the UAE and held discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They witnessed the exchange of eight agreements and endorsed efforts to strengthen economic and commercial cooperation. They also welcomed the growth in UAE-India trade relations since the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) came into effect.
