PM Modi Joins President Biden, Australian PM Albanese, and Japan’s PM Kishida at Quad Summit in Delaware

The leaders took a family photo before the meeting and discussed plans to strengthen cooperation in maritime security, focusing on countering China’s growing maritime assertiveness. A senior US official revealed plans to bolster coordination among the coast guards of the United States, Japan, Australia, and India within the Quad framework.
This summit is the fourth in-person and sixth overall Quad Leaders’ Summit. It is also a ‘farewell’ summit for both US President Joe Biden and Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida before they step down from their respective offices.
The Quad partnership aims to advance a shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific region, delivering concrete benefits for partners in key areas. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre highlighted that this is the first time President Biden is hosting foreign leaders in Wilmington, reflecting his deep personal relationships with each of the Quad leaders.
