Significance of the Award

Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, in charge of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stated that this award highlights PM Modi’s importance as a global leader who contributes to global peace and prosperity. He emphasized that the award strengthens the bilateral relationship between India and Russia.

India’s Stance on Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Chauthaiwale mentioned that PM Modi has consistently stated that this is not an era of war, a stance appreciated by Russian leaders. This reflects the maturity in the relationship between the two countries.

PM Modi’s Visit to Austria

PM Modi’s visit to Austria is the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 41 years, the last being by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Chauthaiwale criticized previous governments for neglecting Austria and expressed optimism that Modi’s visit will enhance tourism and trade between the two nations.

Before departing for Austria, PM Modi interacted with the Indian community in Moscow, praising their role in strengthening India-Russia ties.
