PM Modi Highlights Record Employment in Mumbai, Criticizes Opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Mumbai, addressed the issue of unemployment and highlighted the record employment generation in the last few years. Speaking at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, he cited data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) showing that 8 crore jobs were created in the past 3-4 years, countering the opposition’s claims about unemployment.

PM Modi criticized the opposition, particularly the INDIA bloc, for spreading false narratives about unemployment. He stated that those who create such narratives are against investment and infrastructure development in India. According to data from the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) and RBI’s KLEMS, India generated over 2 crore jobs annually from 2017-18 to 2021-22, even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He emphasized the government’s efforts in skill development and employment generation, noting that infrastructure projects like bridges, railway tracks, and roads contribute to job creation. PM Modi also mentioned that the NDA government, after winning for the third consecutive time, is committed to working at thrice the speed to ensure stability and development.

Highlighting Maharashtra’s role in India’s development, PM Modi praised the state’s industrial, agricultural, and financial sectors. He expressed his goal to make Maharashtra the world’s biggest economic powerhouse. The Prime Minister also mentioned the government’s initiatives for the underprivileged, including providing pucca houses to 4 crore poor families, with plans to extend this to 3 crore more families.

PM Modi acknowledged the cultural and social contributions of Maharashtra, referencing leaders like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Babasaheb Ambedkar. He stressed the importance of harmony and unity for prosperity. During his visit, PM Modi launched and laid the foundation stone for various projects worth over Rs 29,400 crores.
