PM Modi Gifts BHISHM Cubes to Ukraine for Medical Aid
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ukraine and presented four BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita & Maitri) Cubes to the Ukrainian government. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked PM Modi for the humanitarian assistance.
The BHISHM Cubes are designed to provide rapid medical care in emergencies. Each cube contains medicines and equipment for treating various injuries and can support basic surgeries. The cubes can handle around 200 cases and generate their own power and oxygen.
PM Modi shared pictures on his X handle, stating, “Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita & Maitri (BHISHM) is a unique effort which will ensure medical facilities in a rapidly deployable manner.”
A team of experts from India will train Ukrainian personnel to operate the cubes. This gesture underscores India’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Under Project Aarogya Maitri, the BHISHM initiative aims to deliver essential medical facilities and equipment in an organized and easily deployable manner. The cubes are packed with medicines and equipment for various medical situations and can be transported by air, sea, land, or drone.
Each BHISHM Cube consists of 36 mini cubes, which include medicines, surgical equipment, and supplies for emergency care. The cubes also feature RFID inventory management and a digital tablet with instructional videos in 180 languages.
