PM Modi Congratulates Manish Narwal for Winning Silver at Paris Paralympics
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Indian para shooter Manish Narwal for winning a silver medal in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics. Narwal scored 234.9 points, finishing second after a challenging match. South Korea’s Jeongdu Jo won gold with 237.4 points, and China’s Chao Yang took bronze with 214.3 points.
PM Modi took to his official X handle to congratulate Narwal, highlighting his focus and dedication. Modi wrote, “A splendid achievement by Manish Narwal, as he wins the Silver in the P1 Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event. His precision, focus and dedication have once again brought glory.”
Earlier in the day, Avani Lekhara won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle final, and Mona Agarwal secured bronze in the same event. Para sprinter Preethi Pal also won bronze in the Women’s T35 100m race.
India has sent its largest Paralympics contingent ever to Paris, with 84 athletes competing in 12 sports. The country aims to surpass its previous achievements from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where India won 19 medals, including five golds.
