PM Modi highlighted the significance of these items, which include statues, vases, and plaques made from materials like terracotta, stone, and bronze. He appreciated the US government’s efforts and emphasized the importance of preserving India’s heritage.

Among the returned artefacts are:

  • Vases and terracotta plaques of gods and goddesses
  • Statues of Jain Tirthankaras, Buddha, and Krishna
  • Animal statuettes
  • Terracotta tiles from Jammu and Kashmir
  • Bronze idols of Lord Ganesha from Southern India
  • Images of Lord Vishnu from Northern and Southern India

During PM Modi’s visit, the US formally handed over 297 antiquities, including a terracotta vase from Eastern India, a Buddha sculpture made of sandstone from UP, and a Vishnu idol made of bronze from Eastern India.
