Modi emphasized the importance of creating multiple, reliable, and resilient supply chains, noting that the ‘Make in India’ initiative can contribute to global growth and democratize the global economy.

Role of Technology

He noted that technology holds great promise and is a game changer for both development and security. Modi highlighted India’s success in digital public infrastructure and digital financial inclusion.

New Connectivity Linkages

Modi called for new connectivity linkages that respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. He mentioned the progress made on the Chabahar port agreement between India and Iran, which benefits landlocked Central Asian states and commerce between India and Eurasia.

International Cooperation

Modi emphasized the importance of international cooperation, especially with the Global South, and the need to reform the current international order, including the United Nations and its Security Council.

Education and Capacity Building

He highlighted India’s contributions to enhancing the economic agenda of the SCO, including initiatives like the SCO Startup Forum and the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Gujarat.

PM Modi congratulated Kazakhstan for hosting a successful summit and extended best wishes to the upcoming Chinese presidency of the SCO.
