Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a musical performance at a gala dinner for BRICS leaders in Kazan, Russia. The event was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and other leaders.

Earlier, President Putin welcomed PM Modi warmly. The 16th BRICS Summit, themed ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,’ is chaired by Russia. PM Modi and President Putin held a bilateral meeting, highlighting their close coordination and friendship.

PM Modi’s visit to Russia marks his second this year, following a trip to Moscow in July for the India-Russia Annual Summit. He praised President Putin’s leadership of BRICS and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality in Kazan, a city with historical ties to India.

During discussions, PM Modi addressed the Ukraine conflict, advocating for peaceful resolution and offering India’s support for peace and stability. President Putin noted their strong relationship, joking that PM Modi doesn’t need a translator.

PM Modi also met with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian during his visit.
