Warsaw, Poland – Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia, emphasizing that no problem can be solved on the battlefield. He highlighted the loss of innocent lives as a major challenge for humanity and advocated for dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace and stability.

During a press meet with Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk, PM Modi stated that India is ready to provide all possible cooperation along with its friendly countries. He also mentioned that Poland will assume the presidency of the European Union in January 2025, which he believes will strengthen relations between India and the EU.

PM Modi praised Poland’s rich tradition of Indology and Sanskrit, noting that this has laid a strong foundation for bilateral relations. He emphasized the importance of close cooperation in defense, innovation, and talent, and announced a Social Security Agreement for the welfare of the skilled workforce.

Both leaders agreed on the need for reforms in the United Nations and international institutions to face global challenges. They also discussed the challenges of terrorism and climate change, committing to work together for a green future.

Celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, PM Modi and PM Tusk decided to convert their relationship into a strategic partnership. They identified several initiatives to enhance economic cooperation, including inviting Polish companies to join India’s Make in India and Make for the World programs.

PM Modi thanked PM Tusk for the warm welcome and acknowledged Poland’s help in rescuing Indian students during the Ukraine conflict in 2022. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit Poland at the beginning of his third term.
